Your First Visit

On your first visit to our office you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members. We will then have you fill out a couple forms needed to help us provide you with the best care possible. You can download and print these forms to fill out prior to your appointment if you want to save some time. They can be found under the "Patient Form" link on the left menu bar. We will then get a copy of your insurance card so that we can verify your health insurance coverage. Dr. Wink will have a consultation with you to discuss the cause of your problem, what we will need to do to determine if we can help. At that point we will proceed with a thorough analysis including palpation (an examination by touch), posture analysis, the exam may include orthopedic, neurological testing, special gait and a spinal scan, and x-rays if necessary.

Your examination will also include a computerized examination called the "Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination."  This examination involves several important components.

The first part of this examination process involves reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a by product of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. From this we can see how subluxation may be affecting these functions of your nervous system.

In the second part of this examination the Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination scans the surface of your spinal area for surface electrical impulses, and measures them along your spine. This helps measure the affect of subluxation on the motor nerve system and the affect subluxations may be having on your muscles.

The importance of each of these tests will be explained to you at your Report of Findings. However, it is important to note that this examination helps scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. Using the Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination is much more accurate that just depending on "how you feel" on any given day. Please click here to download a "pdf" copy of normal Thermal and SEMG scans with an explanation of how to interpret these scans.

At the conclusion of the examination, you will be led to the front desk where you will be scheduled for a convenient appointment time for your second visit.
