When I was 1 7 and in high school sports, I injured my back, bad. I initially had some stiffness after a workout or activity. As it got worse and occurred more frequendy, I started to get severe muscle spasms and shooting pain into my legs. I was scared. I had fears of being unable to participate in sports or other areas of my life. I also recall thoughts of being paralyzed when my condition was at its worst.
After months of suffering, our town chiropractor in New Holstein (where I grew up) asked if I would let him help me. I was not a miracle cure with just 1 adjustment. He explained my x-rays. We set up a treatment plan to fix the under-lying cause of my problem. My treatments were painless and successful in making me feel better. His
willingness to reach out and help me changed my entire life, physically and
professionally.I had been accepted to business college to follow in my father's footsteps. I asked questions of my doctor and learned more about chiropractic and decided that was my calling and purpose. To help people! I worked with my chiropractor for 2 years after graduation and started my practice here in 1982.
It's strange how life is. Now, people come to me with their sports injuries, chronic pain, neck pain, whiplash, backaches, leg pains, ear infections, asthma, allergies, numbness, athletic injuries, just to name a few. I've learned special techniques for treating all age groups including infants and people in there nineties, even people who have had spinal surgeries.
My children were born at home with the assistance of a midwife and medical back-up for emergencies. During the birth process, spinal misalignments often occur. We paid proper attention to the stresses of their delicate structures at delivery and they had their first chiropractic adjustment within hours of being born. My children get checked for misalignments every few weeks. Research found that children under chiropractic care had fewer cases of tonsillitis and needed less medications and overall health was superior. After all, why would I recommend something to my patients that my family and I don't do ourselves?
"I've been a Chiropractor for over 30 years now and I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to help people!"
Dr. Scott Suprenand D.C. is originally from Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and graduated from Fond Du Lac High School in 2002. When he left high school he wanted to become a doctor so he could help people. He attended The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and majored in Psychology and Pre-Medicine with the intentions of going to medical school. While he was at UWM he discovered chiropractic by two paths. The first path was while he talked with a few medical doctors, particularly psychiatrists. He saw firsthand how most doctors are not given appropriate time to spend with a patient and actually discover what the problems are. His wife suggested he take a complementary medicine course at UWM. In the class, he learned about the value of chiropractic care and how it's root principle is to treat the patient's problem, rather than focusing on their symptoms. His desire to follow a chiropractic path was also affirmed a few months later. While in class, he was having pain in the lower back region. After seeing the chiropractor and getting adjusted, he was also advised not to carry his wallet in his back pocket due to the unevenness it caused in his pelvis. Those two events are what made Dr. Scott realize that there had to be a better way to help people; that way was chiropractic. Dr. Suprenand received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of WisconsinMilwaukee in 2006.
In 2007, he married his wife Laura, also from Fond Du Lac. They moved to Iowa so Dr. Suprenand could attend chiropractic school. He graduated with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in February 2011. Dr. Suprenand has extensive post graduate work in Activator. In May of 2011, he began practicing at Wink Chiropractic Wellness Center in Fond Du Lac.
Dr. Suprenand is actively involved with his family and in the community. He enjoys golf and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In September 2013, Dr. Scott and his wife welcomed their first child Weston Eric to the world.
